I came to Peterborough for my masters in ARU. Before coming here, I searched online on Facebook about community in Peterborugh.
I ended up to Indian Friends of Peterborugh Facebook page and later WhatsApp group. People literally go steps ahead in helping me out. All my doubts regarding area, housing, jobs etc were cleared well.
Community here is very co-operative and gave me a sense of family although its overseas.

I wanted to congratulate the management of the Peterborough Friends group for putting on activities for the Indian community in Peterborough, which has certainly made a positive impact for all age groups. It is particularly useful for the newly arrived workforce from India to get settled here.

I can see the team is putting in a lot of hard work. I don’t remember ever seeing such a busy schedule of activities in the community before. Long may it continue...
With Best Wishes and Blessings

I am the oldest Indian immigrant living in Peterboro. I came here in May 1962. I am the founder sec of Bharat Hindu Samaj which was established in 1972. I started my  working life for British Rail at Peterborough East Station. Later on in life I qualified  as a Youth Leader and I started The Asian Youth Club .During those days for the young esters of minority groups there wasn’t much scope so I gave them the chance. Life during my early days was very hard. My first winter was severe cold .As a member of Indian community I have made a lot of contributions to our community members . I am also a founder member of Diwali Festival Committee . I would like to wish all my friends at Indian Friends of Peterborough. The group. is soon a great job in assisting Indians in solving their problems while they are trying to settle in Peterborough
